Jetstar Airbus A320 Birdstrike at Cairns

On Friday 9th October, Jetstar Airbus A320 VH-VFH was departing Cairns as JQ978 bound for Perth (YPPH) when it struck a bird.

From the Aviation Herald:
"A Jetstar Airbus A320-200, registration VH-VFH performing flight JQ-978 from Cairns,QL to Perth,WA (Australia), was climbing out of Cairns' runway 15 when the crew reported a bird strike, stopped the climb at 6000 feet and returned to Cairns for a safe landing on runway 15 about 30 minutes after departure.
The flight was cancelled, the passengers were rebooked onto other flights, some the next morning."
