SilkAir will operate services to Cairns three times per week - Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

On Mondays and Thursdays, the Boeing 737-800 will arrive from Singapore via Darwin as MI822. After a 50 minute turnaround, it will depart to Singapore direct as MI822.

On Saturdays, however, it will arrive from Singapore direct as MI828 and depart 50 minutes later to Singapore via Darwin also as MI828.

  1. Can the 737-800 operate the Cairns-Singapore and vice versa sectors non-stop with full passenger and freight payloads>

    1. Hi Tony,

According to Wikipedia, the range of a fully loaded Boeing 737-800WL is 5765km.

The distance from Cairns to Singapore is about 5025km, so it is possible to operate the flight non-stop and have a bit of room to spare.

I hope this answers your question,

      Andrew
