The 'New' Skytrans Takes Flight!

On Wednesday 25th March, West Wing Aviation announced on their Facebook Page that Skytrans' Air Operators Certificate (AOC) had been purchased by West Wing Aviation.

According to West Wing:
"The purchase includes aircraft, tooling and the re-instatement of 39 staff. Skytrans will commence operations from Monday 30th March 2015. 
For now all bookings to continue through West Wing Aviation. A dedicated Skytrans booking system will be operational within the next week."

On Monday 30th March, it was noted that a Dash 8-100 had been applied with the new Skytrans titles and logos:

According to Australian Aviation, two Dash 8-100s will be operated by the new Skytrans. The two aircraft will be VH-QQA and VH-QQG.

On Tuesday 31st March, Skytrans Dash 8-100 VH-QQA was identified as having the new livery applied:

Australian Aviation also stated that:
"West Wing had options on a further six Dash 8 Q100s previously operated by Skytrans and the decision on whether to exercise those options, and potentially employ more staff, would depend on how these new flights performed."

On Wednesday 1st April, the inaugural Skytrans service to Northern Peninsula (Bamaga)(YNPE) departed Cairns.
