Hinterland Aviation Takes Over Two Routes Previously Operated by Skytrans and West Wing Aviation Adds Another B1900

On Wednesday 21st January, Hinterland Aviation began services from Cairns to Kowanyama (YKOW) and Pormpuraaw (YPMP).

From Hinterland Aviation's Facebook page:
"Hinterland Aviation can now confirm that scheduled services between Cairns, Kowanyama and Pormpuraaw have received full approval from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority and will commence as scheduled on Wednesday 21st January 2015."

They are utilizing Cessna 208B Caravans on the routes.

Also, it appears that West Wing Aviation have added another 19-seat Beechcraft 1900. It is believed that VH-EMK - a Beechcraft 1900C - has joined the fleet.

-EMK arrived from Perth (YPPH) via Alice Springs (YBAS), Mount Isa (YBMA) and Townsville (YBTL) on Tuesday 13th January.

In a media release published on Wednesday 14th January (which can be found HERE), West Wing Aviation stated that "An additional 19 seat aircraft arrived yesterday".

-EMK increases West Wing Aviation's fleet of Beechcraft 1900s to two.

The media release also states: "it is expected two 36 seat aircraft will be introduced during February 2015".

It is currently not known as to what type the 36-seat aircraft is, nor where they will come from, but there is speculation that it might be two ex. Skytrans Dash 8-100s, which can seat 36.
