Midday Heavies Departing

Yesterday I captured two heavies departing Cairns - both of which we will be seeing for not much longer.

Below is Qantas Boeing 767-300 VH-OGO departing for Sydney (YSSY) as QF925:

Sadly, there are now only 13 QF 767s left

Qantas have recently retired three GE fitted Boeing 767s - OGV, OGP and OGQ

Along with all seven Rolls Royce fitted 767s

All the Qantas 767s are expected to be retired by 2015

Next is Jetstar Airbus A330-200 VH-EBC departing Cairns bound for Narita (RJAA) as JQ25:

Jetstar's A330s will also become a rarity soon - as all of JQ's A330s are being transferred back to Qantas because Jetstar are receiving new Boeing 787 Dreamliners

-EBQ and -EBR are currently in Brisbane being reconfigured into Qantas mainline. They are expected to be repainted into QF Livery very soon

Air New Zealand A320SL ZK-OXD Overnights at Cairns

Late last night, Airbus A320SL ZK-OXD arrived from Singapore Changi (WSSS) as NZ6399.

This afternoon, the A320SL departed Cairns for Christchurch (NZCH) on the last leg of its delivery flight to Air New Zealand as NZ6399.

Below is a photo I took of ZK-OXC in New Zealand:

This is Air New Zealand's fourth Airbus A320SL.

China Eastern A330-200 Arrives

This morning, China Eastern Airbus A330-200 B-5920 arrived from Shanghai Pudong (ZSPD) as MU731.

Interestingly, MU731 is scheduled as a Boeing 767-300 service, as seen below:

Shanghai Airlines Boeing 767-300 (operating on behalf of China Eastern - file photo)
It is unknown as to why China Eastern sent an A330 instead of a 767 on the route.
The A330 should be departing back to Shanghai Pudong (ZSPD) as MU732 at about 10:00am.

Planespotting Photos Over the Weekend

A collection of photos I took over this weekend.

Some from Saturday:

Qantas Boeing 737-800 VH-VXR

Virgin Australia Boeing 737-800 VH-VUC

I believe that VUC was repainted into the current Virgin Australia colours only very recently

And a few more photos from today:

GBR Choppers Bell 206L LongRanger VH-NOC

NQAC Cessna 172 VH-SPW. Recently, -SPW was fitted with a three-bladed propeller and a front wheel spat - making it slightly faster and improved performance
