United States Air Force C-17 Globemaster Makes a Visit!

Late on Tuesday afternoon, United States Air Force (USAF) Boeing C-17 Globemaster III 07-7186 arrived at Cairns. It was heard using the callsign, "Reach 138".

Unfortunately, it is unknown as to where it arrived from.

Qantas Freight Boeing 767-300F and a Bombardier Global 5000 Visit Cairns

This afternoon, a Bombardier Global 5000 and the Qantas Freight Boeing 767-300F both arrived from Auckland (NZAA) and both departed for Hong Kong (VHHH).

First to arrive was BD-700-1A11 Global 5000 B-KEZ from Auckland (NZAA).

After a quick 30 minute stopover, the Global 5000 departed for Hong Kong (VHHH).

And once again, Qantas Freight Boeing 767-300F VH-EFR also arrived from Auckland (NZAA) as QF7533.

It later departed for Hong Kong (VHHH) as QF7531.


DLR Dassault Falcon 20E and Air New Zealand's Newest A320SL Visit Cairns

Last week saw Cairns host two very interesting aircraft.

The first to arrive was DLR (German Aerospace Centre) Dassault Falcon 20E D-CMET.

The highly modified Falcon, which was recently involved in the 'Deep Wave' atmospheric project in New Zealand, arrived from Sydney Kingsford Smith (YSSY) on Tuesday afternoon.

This morning, the very unique Falcon departed for Darwin (YPDN) and later continued on to Brunei (WBSB)

The second aircraft of note at Cairns last week was Air New Zealand's newest Airbus A320SL - ZK-OXF.

The A320SL, which had it's first flight on June 25, arrived from Singapore Changi (WSSS) on Thursday night as NZ6399.

On Friday afternoon, ZK-OXF departed Cairns on it's final leg of the ferry flight to Auckland (NZAA) as NZ6399.
