Recent Movements at Cairns

There have been numerous movements at Cairns over the past few days, including:

  • Yesterday afternoon, Qantas Freight Boeing 767-300F VH-EFR arrived from Auckland (NZAA) as QF7533.
After an hour on the ground, it departed for Hong Kong (VHHH) as QF7531.

This morning, the 767-300F visited again, this time returning from Hong Kong (VHHH) as QF7532.

After a short while on the ground, it departed for Sydney Kingsford Smith (YSSY) as QF7532.

  • Also this morning, the bad weather down the Queensland coast caused some aircraft to divert.
Virgin Australia Boeing 737-800 VH-YFG operating VA367 from Brisbane (YBBN) to Townsville (YBTL) diverted to Cairns.

After about an hour on the ground, the 737-800, delivered new to Virgin in 2012, departed Cairns for Townsville (YBTL) as VA367.

At the time of this post, it has departed Townsville (YBTL) and is operating VA372 to Brisbane (YBBN).

  • And lastly, Alliance Fokker 50 VH-FKV was operating in the Cape York region over the weekend.
The Fokker 50 arrived in Cairns on Friday as QQ4460 from Brisbane (YBBN). Later in the day, it departed for Horn Island (YHID) as QQ4462.

On Sunday, it conducted a flight to Northern Peninsula (YNPE) from Horn Island (YHID) as QQ4463.

This morning, the Fokker 50 departed Horn Island (YHID) for Weipa (YBWP) as QQ4465. From Weipa, it continued on to Cooktown (YCKN) as QQ4465.

After a few hours on the ground in Cooktown (YCKN), it departed for Cairns as QQ4467.

At the time of this post, it is currently en-route to Brisbane (YBBN) as QQ4467.
