Jetstar A320 Go-Around and Some Interesting Landings!

The weather whilst I was planespotting yesterday made for some interesting approaches and landings.

By far the most exciting was Jetstar Airbus A320 VH-VQH. When approaching Cairns from Adelaide (YPAD) as JQ960, a storm was developing near the approach path for straight-in Runway 33 arrivals.

To avoid this, the A320 decided to try a Right Base over the Cairns Esplanade, an approach most commonly used for arriving turboprops from the North. This was my first time seeing a jet this size attempt this approach!

An interesting landing this afternoon was when Cessna 172 VH-TQR was just moments from touchdown, and, as you can see in the photos, it had a very bumpy ride down:
